Sea and Diving
The  sea  is  considered  the  first  life-giving  thing  since the first live cell which
advanced and ended up into human being , started there.
However , for  thousends  of  years and  for most  human beings  it started  and
finished  on the surface. Only in  the last  two centuries  the great beauty which is
hidden under the surface was revealed and man found himself  in a new magic and
fascinating world , free from the influence of gravity.
Of course  this  world does  not differ  much  from our natural environment but in
order to move comfortably and without any danger within it, man must be trained in a new way life which is dominated by completely different rules and laws to ours.
Anyone  can  once  put on  a mask  and look under the surface of the sea. And
especially when someone returns to the surface after his first scuba diving , he will
have realised that nothing in the world is more attractive.
Scuba dives  cuts  us  off  completely  from  the  surface world  and carries us
straight away to another planet.
Skin dives  offer us  the same  amazing view at a lower cost and they can last
for hours in contrast to scuba diving which seldom last longer than an hour.
However, with scuba diving we can dive at greater depths , except if someone is
champion in dead calm.
In  skin diving , the  common  dives , man  leaves  the surface under  his natural
living conditions. He  reaches a small  or great depth , experiences the influence of
the highest  pressure  and within a very limited time that his strength allows him in
holding  his breath , comes to the  surface  again  to meet with his natural envinro-
nment.
Things  differ  in  scuba  diving. But  of course  and  in this case man leaves the surface under the same natural living conditions. Going down  towards the seabed,
creates  new , always natural  living  conditions, which are adjusted  according  to the depth  he is at any moment. At  10 , 20 and 30 metres the air he breaths  has
pressure  of 2 , 3 and 4 at (bar). Every  contact  with  the surface has substantially
been cut off. The surface  is not  for him  anymore  a natural situation , this  known
beloved world  to which  he will turn to in case something unexpected happens. To
come to the surface he must follow with wisdom a way of gradual re-adjustment.
The development of the technique of scuba diving was based on physico-chemical
anatomic and natural facts. A lot of these have a conection with medicine. But this
doesn 't mean that their knowledge  must be limited to doctors. Whatever happens at  20  or  30 metres , it will  not be  easy  to  call a doctor  to deal  with it. On the contrary the scuba diver must know more from a non-specialist doctor.
It is common sence  that in order to take up diving one must be fully aware with
this data, because otherwise he will put himself in danger.
Finally  we  are  not  talking  about  another  sport  among others or marely for a
hobby but for a  pasion !
In spite  of all  the above mentioned  we must  always keep in mind that man at the seabed is not in his  natural environment and he could  be confronted  as intru-
der and sometimes not wanted and strange in the sea kingdom,(animal and plant).
So we must treat this attractive , magic and beautiful sea world with respect.
